If you are VAT-registered in Fiji, Samoa, or Vanuatu and issue invoices from a POS, an accredited Sales Data Controller is required by law on every sale. The tax authority does provide a Virtual SDC (V-SDC) for very low-volume taxpayers, but most businesses opt for an External SDC (E-SDC) like Westpower VMS — it runs offline, signs invoices locally, and never depends on the authority's servers being reachable at the exact moment of sale.
If you ring up more than a few receipts a day, run several checkouts, or trade where the internet is patchy, an E-SDC is the sensible choice.
